That affects where a flue can go, so we survey first and normally route flues to the rear or side. The houses have usually had several heating systems over the years, so we also check what pipework is left behind before we quote, and we agree a fixed price before any work starts.
Often, yes. Older terraces with steel pipework and radiators that have been on the system for decades tend to hold a lot of black sludge, and Wolverton's hard water adds scale on top.
